When you come to a Wisconsin Union Theater performance, you likely learn something about the performer on stage. But what do you know about the people sitting around you in the audience? After distributing a series of surveys this fall, we wanted to share some of the interesting things we learned! 

1. We asked on Instagram what type of musical ensemble people were (or still are) a part of, and the majority of respondents were orchestra members! 
2. We asked if our audience prefers Shannon Hall or the Play Circle Theater. Most people voted for Shannon Hall! 
3. When asked where they prefer to sit in Shannon Hall, most people are in favor of the orchestra section.
4. At an average show, our audience is made up of 22% students and 78% community members.
5. How many performances do you think the average audience member attends? Turns out it is three to five times per year!
6. Forty-seven percent of our audience purchases their tickets online, but some people still prefer to stop by our box office in Memorial Union or to give us a call at 608-265-ARTS (2787). 
7. Our audience loves a wide variety of genres with jazz being the most popular! 
8. People of all ages are represented in our audience with the highest number of people being between the ages of 24 and 34.
