Music, Game Watches, and Camaraderie
Welcome home to the living room of campus. Der Rathskeller (or Der Rath as it is affectionately called) is a favorite gathering place for students, staff, and community members. With a German-beer-hall vibe, this Wisconsin Union icon hosts music sponsored by the Wisconsin Union Directorate's Music Committee, game watches for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers, and provides a place to meet and socialize. A hub for comfort food at its finest, studying and socializing of all kinds, all the best features of der Rathskeller have been preserved and restored.
Der Rathskeller’s murals and fireplaces have been refreshed and restored to their original luster after years of use. With cork ceilings, cleaned up steins, and an improved stage with a hi-definition screen to accommodate Badger game watches, we find ourselves asking how Der Rath could have gotten any more perfect, and now we know. As the home for Badger sports, Der Rath shows all televised Badger games whenever there isn't a previously scheduled event.
