Campus Event Services provides planning and coordination for any size wedding reception, anniversary party and other special events. The beautiful rooms and spaces in the Memorial Union and Union South offer a unique backdrop to your dream day.

*Please note that for weddings booked starting November 2023, the special service fee is increasing to $1,000*

Booking requirements & information you will need:

- Wisconsin Union membership number
- Name of Union member
- $1,000 non-refundable deposit & $500 special service fee pre-payment
- Approximate number of guests
- Phone number, email and mailing address for the main contact on the reservation
- Preferred date and preferred reception space
- Maximum of one lottery number assigned per event. Reservations are non-transferable.
- Please note that reservations for events occurring less than 18 months in advance are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Popular Space Reservations For Union Members

The Union uses a lottery system for member reservations in our popular large reception spaces—Great Hall, Tripp Commons and Varsity Hall. On the first business day of each month, the lottery takes place for the month 18 months in the future (i.e. a wedding in November 2023 can be booked at the lottery on the first business day in May 2022).

If you wish to book a member event on a date earlier than the month being booked during the lottery, you may submit your request here anytime.

We offer two convenient options for attending the lottery:

In Person - Arrive at the Campus Event Services office in Memorial Union (2nd Floor) between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. You will receive a number upon completion of a form. The lottery will be held at 9:00 am with reservations made in the order that the numbers are drawn.
Virtually via Zoom Link - At least one business day prior to the Lottery, please email events@union.wisc.edu. We will send you a form to fill out and a Zoom link to attend. Please log on to the video call between 8:30am and 9:00am and you will be given a number. The lottery will be held at 9:00 am with reservations made in the order that the numbers are drawn.

**Please Note: We are unable to offer Saturday and Sunday dates in September-November 2024 at this time. We eagerly await the 2024 Badger Football schedule and will update availability once we know the dates of home games. We encourage inquiring wedding couples to reach out to our office when the schedule is released. Inquiries will be processed in the order they are received**

Wedding Tastings

We offer menu tastings for wedding couples on the following dates:

Entrée Tasting Dates:

Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 (the final date to register will be Friday, October 6th 2023)

Sunday, January 28th, 2024 (the final date to register will be Friday, January 12th 2024)

Hors D'oeuvres Tasting Dates:

Thursday, January 25th, 2024 (the final date to register will be Friday, January 12th 2024)

Catering Menus & Info

The Wisconsin Union offers a wide range of audio/visual and presentation equipment for weddings at Memorial Union & Union South.

Event equipment can be reserved through your Campus Event Services wedding planner as soon as your event is scheduled. Our friendly team of event and building managers are available to assist you with your rented equipment use or answer any questions on the day of your event.

You may bring in your own equipment, but we cannot provide technology support for non-Wisconsin Union equipment.
