Alien Nation Rini Tarafder, Directed by Samuel Wood Alien Nation was called Non-Resident Alien in a previous draft, and raises questions about climate change, capitalism, and the survival of humans in a post-apocalyptic non-world. Rini Tarafder is a third year PhD student in Interdisciplinary Theatre studies, and this is her second play in the Marcia Légère Student Play festival. She has written, arranged music for, and performed with various theatre groups in India. Currently, she is in the stage   management team for Let's Eat Mary, a part of the Julie Vogt Open Stages Festival at UW-Madison, of which she is also the producer.
	Watching Over The Mother Michael Ortiz, Directed by Tierra Higgins 2 children watch over their Mother during her coma in a night of events that don't turn out the way either will expect. Michael Ortiz is a Junior, majoring in Computer Science and History. His interests include eating food, watching movies, and listening to music. Watching over the Mother is his first foray into theater writing, and he hopes to continue along the path to creating more works in the future.
	Bullying 101 Ananda Deacon, Directed by Christina Greenlee In an effort to turn a bunch of Davids into Goliaths, an eccentric professor tricks his students into enrolling in a course that teaches them how to bully properly. When one student starts to excel past his peers, the professor begins to wonder what he has created. Ananda Deacon is a junior double majoring in Political Science and Spanish with a certificate in Afro-Am studies. Drawing and writing are her passions, and she wants to write a children's book one day when she has down time in her law career. She began writing plays during and after taking Theatre 357 (no this is not a paid endorsement) which focused on social justice theatre. She would like to thank members of The House, the MLC, and her boyfriend for consistently supporting her work.
	I Hate That Sophie Bohr, Directed by Christian Brenny Margot, Ingrid, and Jezebel hide out in a classroom, tasked with making bracelets for their church’s bible camp; but as they explore their beliefs and the bounds of their friendship they end up discovering more than they expected about themselves and each other. Sophie Bohr is a junior studying Computer Science and is especially interested in the intersection of immersive/interactive technologies and performance. Whether it’s writing, directing, designing or attending, Sophie absolutely loves all aspects of theatre and is so grateful she gets to be a part of the Marcia Légère festival! I Hate That is her first play produced for the stage.
	Nothing New Under The Sun Sydney Walker, Directed by Spencer Sondrol Teaguen and Charles are left confused and disputatious on the roof of their apartment building while the sun takes a vacation. Sydney Walker is a sophomore majoring in Theatre with other odds and ends thrown in for good measure. Nothing New Under the Sun is her first play produced, both overall and with the Marcia Légère Student Play Festival; she is extremely thankful for the opportunity. When not reading or writing, she can be found onstage in the University Theatre’s upcoming production of The Wolves, teaching theatre with the Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth, or playing double bass. She would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her all this time and Steven Stack for igniting her obsession (even if his opinion on oatmeal raisin cookies is wrong).
