Students

From the very beginning, part of the Theater’s mission has been to make the performing arts accessible to students. We'd love for every student to come through our doors at least once while they are studying here.

Student Tickets

UW-Madison students can see most of our exciting season performances for less than $12. Additionally, we also offer discounted ticket prices to non-UW students and youth (17 & under). To purchase student tickets, simply choose the price that correlates to your student status while checking out - no promo code required. You will be asked to present your valid Wiscard or student I.D. when picking up your tickets.

In addition to seeing world-class performances on our stages, students can get involved in our theater in many different ways:

Performing Arts Committee

The Theater's annual season is programmed by students in the Wisconsin Union Directorate Performing Arts Committee (WUD PAC) in collaboration with the Theater's director. Committee members choose artists, make offers, book the performers, and help make the show happen.

Work at the Wisconsin Union Theater

UW-Madison students work in many positions at the Theater. Our creative Marketing and Communications interns work on all aspects of promoting the season. Read their behind-the-scenes articles in our blog, The Green Room. Hard-working Stagehands help get our many performances set up and taken down, box office employees sell tickets in-person and by phone, and our reliable ushers and front of house team makes sure that our patrons have a pleasant experience in the Theater.

Registered Student Organizations

Numerous student groups rent the Theater spaces for their performances. From India Night to Humorology, from a one-time dance recital to an annual event, the Theater and its venues are available to UW-Madison students.
