The easiest way to get involved is to attend an event or join a committee meeting. Just show up!

Our Events:

WUD programs a plethora of events each month; concerts and performances, lectures, discussions and demonstrations, art gallery shows, films + more!  Check out the Union's event calendar here. The majority of our events are free to any UW-Madison student (if there's a cost associated with any program, the event page will tell you). We welcome all perspectives and identities, so please join us! You can also let us know what events we should plan next and how you want to hear about our programming by taking this brief survey!

Joining a Committee:

All UW-Madison students are welcome to become members of any committee at any time — and there's no fee to join WUD. Feel free to stop by a committee's meeting or approach a current member at one of their events. Throughout the year, individual committees may also announce leadership positions. You can find contact information and meeting dates on each committee's page.

WUD is also an awesome opportunity to gain leadership experience.

Lead your Union:

WUD Officers and Directors ensure that there are always fun and engaging experiences for campus. These leaders are responsible for organizing committees that plan and promote a diverse array of events and opportunities to enrich the campus and greater Madison community.

Make decisions about your Union:

Share your perspectives and help make decisions about your Union by joining a Union Council Subcommittee. There are four subcommittees that oversee various operational units in the Union and all UW-Madison students, staff and faculty members, and alumni are welcome to attend any subcommittee's meetings.
