The Union offers a variety of student jobs that are fun, flexible and conveniently located around the UW-Madison campus. Plus, all student jobs start at a minimum of $15/hour.

The quickest way to get hired with the Union is through Direct Placement, which allows you to complete a general application and be placed in an available unit that fits your needs. Alternatively, you can apply for specific positions as they open up within our various units. All student jobs with the Wisconsin Union are work-study eligible.

  • Direct Placement is the fastest way to get a job with the Wisconsin Union. When you submit an application within this category, you are applying for an immediate start in an available dining and facilities unit at the Wisconsin Union! The Human Resources department will work with you and place you in a job that fits your schedule, location preference, and likes.

  • Our building support team helps to clean, monitor and maintain our various properties, from historic Memorial Union to bustling Union South.

  • Behind the scenes at the Union, there are dedicated teams helping to organize, promote and plan the many activities hosted in our buildings. Interns gain valuable real-world experience in a variety of fields.

  • Student jobs are available to students from UW and other institutions—universities, technical colleges, vocational or trade schools. Students must be registered for credits that go toward a degree and must verify enrollment and registration in order to be eligible for student jobs. High school students (age 14+) with certain work conditions may also apply for student jobs.


    Student jobs with the Wisconsin Union meet United States Visa requirements or work-study program requirements.
