The timeless beauty of music by Beethoven, Mozart, Robert Schumann, and Andrea Casarrubios will usher in the Wisconsin Union Theater’s renowned annual Concert Series in Shannon Hall at Memorial Union with performances by the Emerson String Quartet on Sept.

2022-23 Wisconsin Union Theater season begins Sept. 15

An equity plan more than a year in the making, called the Equity Strategic Action Plan (ESAP), will kick off soon with campus stakeholders’ feedback driving the actionable ways the University of Wisconsin–Madison Center for Leadership & Involvement (CfLI) will work to further improve policies, practices and support of marginalized campus community members.

Carnegie Hall’s National Jazz Youth Orchestra (NYO Jazz) will perform on the Shannon Hall stage at Memorial Union in Madison on Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. as part of Wisconsin Union Theater’s summer jazz offerings.
Seating is available on a first come, first served basis, and no tickets are required.

The Wisconsin Union’s Outdoor UW, Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) Music Committee and Hoofer Outing Club are ready to make a splash with the Union’s first-ever Lakefront Live at the Memorial Union Terrace on July 14 at 6 p.m. The free outdoor concert – featuring indie pop band Sleeping Jesus – turns the band at the UW Credit Union Terrace Stage 180º around to face audience members on paddle and watercraft on Lake Mendota.

The Wisconsin Union Theater team invites patrons to jazz up their year with its six-show Jazz Series, which runs from Sept. 15, 2022-March 25, 2023, at Memorial Union.
The series lineup includes:

University of Wisconsin–Madison team members collaborated for months with a common goal: determine how to further strengthen leadership education at UW–Madison.
Leadership advocates from across campus convened to facilitate UW–Madison’s participation in the Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL), an international research program focused on understanding how higher education can help students develop leadership skills.

Free and low-cost entertainment is back at iconic Madison summertime lakeside destination the Memorial Union Terrace, including the decades-long traditions of free concerts, free film showings, outdoor events and recreation equipment rentals, and art events as well as new activities.

Paddling rentals and summer outdoor group experiences have begun at Outdoor UW for the 2022 summer season, including the rental of tandem kayaks, single kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and an eight-person stand-up paddleboard.
