Tickets for comedian Mo Amer’s Feb. 25 performance at the Wisconsin Union Theater’s Memorial Union are now available to the general public, following an initial students-only ticket offering.

With remaining ticket availability, the Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) is expanding ticket access to all after University of Wisconsin–Madison students were given the first opportunity to purchase tickets.

Amer, a Palestinian-American stand-up comedian, actor, writer and producer known for his award-winning and globally recognized comedy, has performed in more than 40 countries across five continents and has multiple Netflix specials, including “Mo Amer: The Vagabond,” “Mohammed in Texas” and “Mo Amer: Wild World.” Amer’s work often draws on his experiences as a Palestinian-American and first-generation immigrant, exploring the themes of identity, family and belonging.

In 2022, Amer co-created and starred in the semi-autobiographical Netflix series “Mo,” which follows a Palestinian refugee navigating life in Houston. The series earned a Peabody Award and a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series and received a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes in its first season.

“Mo’s stand-up is not about a punchline; his humor is based in observational comedy, and his talents as an actor make him a great storyteller. ,” WUT Director Elizabeth Snodgrass said. “His material is representative of real-life experiences, and it will inspire people to reflect as well as laugh..”

Patrons can purchase tickets for this event online, in person at the Memorial Union Box Office, or by phone at 608-265-2787.
