Who We Are
WUD Cuisine is a group of students dedicated to exploring local and global food systems and their cultural influences while engaging the community through education around food sustainability, practicality, and justice. The space food creates for inquiry, conversation, protest, and social justice is powerful because of its history in exploitation, community, and identity. Whether you have an interest in learning to make simple meals, gluten-free baking, making new friends, social justice, farming, or land use…WUD Cuisine is here for you!
What We Do
This student-run committee provides opportunities to engage in cooking workshops and demonstrations, educational events, community outreach, and tastings. Our programming will serve and reflect the diverse, multicultural backgrounds of the student population while delving the three main parts of the food system: production, distribution, and consumption. Come play with your food with us this year!
For Students, By Students
Student members complete every aspect of the programming process from planning and coordinating the event to creating marketing materials and promoting the event. Students choose what issues and topics they want to focus on and how they want to bring these ideas to life through planning events.
Get Involved
Students of all majors and levels of interest in food are welcome and encouraged to join us. The Cuisine committee meets weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm at Union South (check TITU for specific location). Whether you want to plan an event, share a recipe or just listen to others talk about food, anyone is welcome throughout the semester! Drop by our next meeting!
