Mind-bending, shadow-puppetry wonders, Manual Cinema returns to the Wisconsin Union Theater with its brand-new production, The 4th Witch. Offering a new slant on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the play explores grief, war, generational conflict, and cycles of violence through the story of an orphaned girl who becomes an apprentice to the three Weird Sisters. Performing live cinema with shadow projections, silhouettes, live music, and its unique artistic alchemy, Manual Cinema toils and troubles to create an immersive experience unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Known for combining shadow puppetry, cinematic techniques, sound effects, and live music, Emmy Award-winning Manual Cinema has been named Chicago Artists of the Year (Chicago Tribune) and performed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Kennedy Center, and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, among others.
