On May 1, 2023, after months of preparation the 2023 limited-edition mini Terrace chair will be available at the Memorial Union Badger Market! This year's chair supports suicide prevention efforts on campus. Each of the 800 chairs is unique and Wisconsin Union team members hand-splattered the mini purple chairs with teal paint to represent the colors of the suicide prevention ribbon.
A portion of each $19.99 chair purchase will be donated to the University Health Services Suicide Prevention Fund.
Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Information
College students face varied mental health concerns that can include suicidal ideation. With the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as ongoing experiences of racism and trauma, our students need support now more than ever. The Suicide Prevention Fund at University Health Services (UHS) provides critical support and infrastructure for comprehensive suicide prevention initiatives and mental health resources at UW-Madison. Your gifts enable us to continue developing educational programs around mental health and suicide prevention while increasing our capacity to serve more students with mental health concerns year-round.
The UHS Mental Health Crisis Support Line is staffed 24/7 by licensed professionals. If you are a student thinking about suicide, or if you’re concerned for the well-being of someone you know, call 608-265-5600 (option 9) to speak with an on-call crisis counselor who will help address your most pressing concerns, assess your safety, and connect you with follow-up service needs. We care about you and want you to get connected to the support you need.
