Book Your Stay for Commencement

As we prepare for 2025 Spring Commencement, we are excited to announce some changes regarding reservations for this special event.

To offer a more streamlined booking process and accommodate all guests efficiently, we will only be accepting reservations for the 2025 Spring Commencement via our online booking engine. 2025 Commencement Weekend bookings will open on May 9, 2024, at 10 AM CDT. We encourage you to mark your calendars and set a reminder for this important date.

Please take note of the following requirements for reservations:
  • Booking Period: Reservations will be available for Friday and Saturday nights with a minimum stay requirement of 2 nights.
  • Full Deposit: A full deposit will be required to confirm your reservation. This deposit will be taken 30 days before your scheduled arrival date.

We understand that this change may differ from your previous booking experience, but it is designed to ensure a smoother and more convenient reservation process for all our guests during this busy period.

To make your reservation starting May 9, please visit our online booking engine, which will be updated to accommodate 2025 Spring Commencement reservations. Reservations will not be accepted over the phone at this time.

  • No, our online booking engine will show the most up-to-date inventory levels. Reservations will be first come, first served starting at 10 AM on May 9, 2024. 

  • Yes, the room can be split after the reservation has been made. Note that the online reservation will only allow the input of one card. To split the reservation, please contact us at hotel@union.wisc.edu or via phone at (608) 263-2600.

  • Special event weekends have a 2-night minimum stay, meaning Friday and Saturday are sold as unit.

    A non-refundable deposit for the cost of Friday and Saturday will be taken from the card on file 30 days prior to Friday, May 9, 2025.

    This deposit will not be refunded if cancellation occurs within 30 days before May 9.

  • Our hotel policy allows a maximum of two rooms to be booked per party to ensure fairness and accommodation for all guests. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this guideline.

  • If you cancel more than 30 days before May 9, 2025, there will be no charge. Your stay details should be finalized 30 days prior to May 9, 2025. The deposit for the cost of Friday and Saturday will be taken from the card on file 30 days prior to Friday, May 9, 2025. This deposit will not be refunded if cancellation occurs within 30 days of May 9, 2025.

  • Kindly note that our hotel extends discounted rates solely to Wisconsin Union Members. Alumni discounts are not applicable.

  • No, bookings open up one year prior to the date of stay. We encourage you to join the Wisconsin Union Hotel mailing list below to receive information about future graduations, football games and other promotions throughout the year.
